The Klein K-10 LF is made to fill the void caused from the frustration of todays cinema and high end home theater calibrators. Cinema and home theater display calibrators in the past have had to deal with equipment that doesn't accurately portray the Color, IRE, or luminance of the display. Many calibrators in the field have had to make adjustments to accommodate for their instruments inefficiencies. We solved this problem by taking our product line, which is made and sold world-wide to display manufacturers, and retooled it for the cinema and home theater market.

Proprietary Hardware and Software

The Klein K-10 LF has in its hardware the TSXTM filter matrix, originally designed to exceed the stringent tolerances of the display manufacturing market. Our trade secret matrix of filters and proprietary coupling of hardware and software analysis now affordably gives you the most powerful and accurate CIE Colorimeter in the world.

The Klein K-10 LF is a tri-stimulus device that is stringently matched to the CIE curve. Each K-10 LF is individually calibrated before it leaves the warehouse. It comes with the Klein software, so calibrating monitors is easy and efficient. All of this means that you can calibrate your clients cinema or home theater display faster and more accurately.

This is an Incident CIE Colorimeter Probe and designed to be the best colorimeter in sensitivity, stability and speed. It attaches directly to a PC's USB port, and runs with the companion Klein PC software.

The Klein K-10 LF is designed specifically to diagnose these monitors:

  • Projection for use in commercial movie theaters
  • Projection systems for home theater use:

  • Plasma Displays (PDP)

  • CRT Displays

Here is a list of the following

  • Large Photodiodes. Diodes that are 5mm x 5mm each, along with thermally stable components, are combined to report the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Exceptionally Accurate Filters. Not only is the f1’ of Y critical but the accuracy of X and Z as well. See the actual Klein vs. CIE graph.
  • Light Mixing Chamber. This ensures all the diodes see the same light and virtually eliminates any x,y variations by turning the probe clockwise or counter clockwise.
  • Quick Measurements over a USB line. The head takes 256 measurements per second, even at low light. For readability, 8 measurements per second are displayed.
  • FFT Flicker Meter: Probe measures and integrates Y data in the head, and streams in real time to the PC, and a Fast Fourier Transform is performed. JEITA method.
  • Gamma Testing. Luminance measurements are taken from 100% video to 0% video in 10% increments. Y gamma is displayed along with the data and graphs.
  • Klein PC Program. Create calibration files and set measuring parameters. Then data log, graph and export. The PC program manages the data in an easy to use interface.
  • 8 Bright LED's. LED's projecting through a 12ft focal length lens (62mm style available) and focusing on a screen define the measurement area. Acceptance angle is ±5 degrees.
  • Rugged Construction. The K-10 LF’s auto ranging is solid state and the case is impact resistant to hold up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week required usage that manufacturers require.
  • Included items are the PC program and a certificate of calibration.
