Are you a Professional Calibrator?

The Klein K-10 LF is designed to eliminate the frustration that professional calibrators have. One frustration is having to make do with equipment that doesn't accurately measure color, especially at low light. Another frustration is dealing with expensive spectroradiometers that are slow and laborious. The K-10 LF solves these frustrations with an accurate and fast colorimeter paired with it's easy to use companion PC program. This equipment is designed to save you time, save you money, produce accurate calibrations and then report this information to your customers.

The Klein TFXTM Filter Matrix

The Klein K-10 LF has in its hardware the TFXTM filter matrix. This filter matrix was designed for the strict requirements of display manufacturers in mind. Having the closest match possible to CIE was the #1 goal of our colorimeter program. Once this was solved we coupled the filter matrix with large, linear, photodiodes. This gave us the stability and speed we needed even at low light. But it doesn't stop there...

Every K-10 LF is individually calibrated. Each K-10 LF goes through an established calibration routine to get it accurate and to keep it accurate in the field. One of the calibrations includes traceability to NIST. Documentation of this traceability is included with every K-10 LF we sell. Another calibration involves thermal compensation which works behind the scenes, when you use it. So you don't have to worry about temperature changes when performing a calibration. This ensures continued superior accuracy at low light. Every feature incorporated into the K-10 LF is designed to make your calibrations easier, faster and more accurate.

The Klein K-10 LF measures all kinds of displays, not just projectors. We include 9 calibration files for various display types to give you the best accuracy in a variety of different applications. With the Klein PC Program you can create your own calibration files and set measuring parameters. Then data log, graph and export all in an easy to use interface.

The Klein K-10 LF is designed specifically for these monitors:

  • Projection for use in commercial movie theaters
  • Projection systems for home theater use:
    • DLP
    • LCD based systems
    • CRT based systems
  • Direct view displays Theater use:
    • LCD Panels
    • Plasma Displays (PDP)
    • CRT's
When measuring back at the projector, this cosine receptor is used. It screws on to the front of the K-10 LF and is included in the K-10 LF Package. Use in conjunction with the Lux Cal file.

Klein K-10 LF features

  • Large Photodiodes. Diodes that are 5mm x 5mm each, along with being thermally stable and linear report the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Exceptionally Accurate Filters. Not only is the f1’ of Y critical but the accuracy of X and Z as well. See the actual Klein vs. CIE graph.
  • Light Mixing Chamber. This ensures all the diodes see the same light and virtually eliminates any x,y variations by turning the probe clockwise or counter clockwise.
  • Quick Measurements over an RS232 (over USB) line. The head takes 256 measurements per second, even at low light. For readability, 8 measurements per second are displayed.
  • FFT Flicker Meter: Probe measures and integrates Y data in the head, and streams in real time to the PC, and a Fast Fourier Transform is performed. JEITA method.
  • 8 Bright LED's. LED's projecting through an ~12ft (4m) focal length lens and focusing on a screen define the measurement area. Acceptance angle is ±5 degrees.
  • Rugged Construction. The K-10 LF's auto ranging is solid state and the case is impact resistant to hold up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week usage that the display manufacturers require.
  • Included items are the PC program and a certificate of calibration traceable to NIST.
